Royal splendour: Charles Avalon's latest poster artwork depicts one of the most famous views of London - The Palace of Westminster with Elizabeth Tower - commonly known as 'Big Ben', and Westminster Bridge, viewed from the South Bank of the River Thames. Regarded around the world as a symbol of democracy, The Palace of Westminster comprises the House of Commons and the House of Lords and was designed by Charles Barry in the mid-19th century after the original Palace burned to the ground. The adjacent Elizabeth Tower houses Big Ben, the legendary bells which strike the quarter-hours. Reflecting London's modernity, Charles has depicted the remarkable 'London Eye', a unique vantage point for viewing Great Britain's capital city in all its glory.
