Deco de-Luxor: Cairo became a key stopping point for air travel pioneers, Imperial Airways, who developed routes that linked the countries of the British Empire in India, Africa and beyond. The consistent British presence in Egypt, coupled with these new routes, facilitated expeditions to the pyramids, with a great many archaeological digs and discoveries taking place. This poster combines the luxurious with the historical; the silhouetted camel and its rider gaze up at a plane, under which the iconic pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx stand – just two of the many well-preserved temples, pyramids, tombs and monuments that were built during Ancient Egypt's 3,000 year civilisation.
