The ultimate downhill: With 170kms of perfectly groomed slopes, the medieval Austrian town of Kitzbühel offers fantastic skiing for an average of 155 days each season. Home to the world-famous 'Streif' - the most spectacular downhill ski race track in the world - it brings the best skiers from every corner of the world together to compete for the honour of victory on the Streif. The start of race course is at 1,665m altitude, characterized by extremely difficult and steep terrain right from the starting gate. During the winter, before and after the race, the high speed breathtaking jumps and steep slopes can be tackled (or attempted!) by members of the public.
