Bien vivre: Partly it's the fabled sun and light of Provence, but it is also the culture and the agricultural bounty that makes the Provençal markets so special. In this Art Deco inspired rendering, Avalon illustrates the legendary markets in full flow beside the lavender fields under a perfect sky, the seasoned vendors displaying an abundance of sunkissed fruits and colourful vegetables. Depicted amongst the food and its artful display is a girl carrying a huge array of fragrant flowers. As well as the colour and quality of the food presented, Provençal markets are also noted for their lively theatre, with local farmers quoting prices and bagging items at a furious pace.
